Pacific NW Trade School Privacy Policy

1. Scope & platform roles

This policy explains how Pacific NW Trade School handles information in connection with its public website and educational services. Tough Crew hosts the shared authenticated account, LMS, coursework, progress, and student dashboard. PNWTS uses information from that platform to deliver school services. Tough Crew's separate workforce and platform activities are also subject to its own privacy notices. Stripe processes membership payments under its own Privacy Policy.

2. Information we collect

• Account and profile: information you provide, such as name, email, phone, profile details, trade interests, work area, availability, and referral information when applicable to shared account registration.
• Educational activity: enrollments, coursework, participation, attendance, course progress, submitted work, assessments, grades, certificates, and completion records.
• Communications: questions, support requests, messages, feedback, and information shared with instructors or school staff. Live-session recordings, if offered, are subject to notice and any required consent.
• Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, access times, requested pages, error logs, and authentication or security events generated when services are used.
• Billing: selected membership, subscription status, transaction references, payment status, invoices, and limited payment-method details that the payment processor makes available, such as card brand and last four digits. Payment credentials are submitted to Stripe for processing; PNWTS does not store full card numbers or card security codes for membership billing.

3. Sources & uses

Information comes from you, your use of the services, instructors and school staff, and providers such as Tough Crew, authentication providers, and Stripe as needed for their roles.

We use it to register and authenticate accounts, protect access, deliver courses and live instruction, assess work, track progress, issue and verify completion records, manage subscriptions and billing, respond to requests, communicate service or program updates, troubleshoot problems, and improve services. We also use relevant information to prevent fraud, protect safety, resolve disputes, and meet legal or educational-recordkeeping obligations. Optional promotional communications, if offered, include applicable preference or opt-out options.

4. Cookies & browser storage

The website and connected services may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to maintain authentication, security, preferences, and essential functionality. The site's progressive web app can cache assets on your device for loading and offline behavior. Tough Crew, authentication providers, and Stripe may use their own storage technologies when you access their services. Browser settings let you manage cookies and site data, but blocking or clearing them may sign you out or affect functionality. Clearing browser data or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription or delete your hosted account.

5. Sharing & service providers

PNWTS does not sell personal information. We share information with Tough Crew to operate the shared account and learning services, with Stripe to process payments and subscriptions, and with vendors providing authentication, hosting, communications, security, and other services as needed for those functions. Access by instructors and staff is based on their responsibilities.

We may disclose relevant information at your direction or with your consent, to support required educational completion reporting where applicable, to comply with valid legal requirements, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate fraud and security incidents. If the organization undergoes a merger or transfer, information may be transferred subject to applicable privacy obligations and required notice. Providers may also have independent legal obligations and their own privacy notices.

6. Retention of school & business records

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, considering the type of record, the student relationship, applicable legal and regulatory requirements, educational-recordkeeping needs, and dispute or security obligations. Different categories may have different retention periods.

Canceling membership or suspension for nonpayment does not delete your account, progress, grades, certificates, or school records. Paid coursework access may end while records remain preserved. Some educational, completion, financial, tax, fraud-prevention, safety, and legal records may need to remain after account deletion, including for applicable accreditation obligations if any; this is not a statement that PNWTS is accredited. Retained information is restricted to the purposes requiring retention. Backup copies may persist until their normal retention cycle ends, subject to legal holds.

7. Your choices & deletion requests

Use your Tough Crew account to review available profile and membership settings. You may contact PNWTS to request access to or correction of your information, ask about retention, or request deletion, subject to applicable rights and exceptions. Identity verification or proof of authority may be required, and responses will follow applicable legal requirements.

Follow the Account & Data Deletion instructions to distinguish ending billing from deleting eligible data. PNWTS coordinates shared-account requests with Tough Crew. Deleting eligible data may be irreversible and may affect access to other Tough Crew services; legally or operationally required records may be retained. A request alone does not confirm deletion or subscription cancellation.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and services, including authenticated access to student services. No transmission or storage system is completely secure. Protect your credentials and report suspected unauthorized access to your school administrator. Do not include passwords, full payment-card numbers, or unnecessary sensitive documents in a support request.

9. Children & minors

Enrollment eligibility and any parent or guardian requirements depend on the applicable program and law. This policy does not establish a new enrollment age requirement. The public website is not directed to children under 13, and PNWTS does not knowingly collect their personal information without any consent required by law. If you believe a child has provided information without required authorization, contact PNWTS so the situation can be reviewed and appropriate action taken. Parents or guardians may contact PNWTS about applicable rights concerning a minor's information.

10. United States & Washington users

PNWTS serves users in the United States, including Washington State. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where service providers operate, subject to applicable requirements. Privacy rights depend on your location and the laws that apply to the information and services. Contact PNWTS to exercise applicable rights; this policy does not waive rights or promise coverage under a particular education or privacy law where it does not apply.

11. Policy updates

We may revise this policy as services and practices change. The updated version and revision date will appear here. Material changes will be communicated through reasonable means, and notice or consent will be provided where required by law.
